Disorders of the teeth and mouth can affect overall bodily functions, making attention and treatment of these issues essential—especially among school-aged children. One effective approach to increasing children's understanding of the importance of maintaining dental health is through educational outreach using audiovisual media. This type of media is effective because it engages two senses simultaneously—hearing (audio) and sight (visual)—making the information easier for children, as the target audience, to comprehend. The aim of this community service activity was to provide dental and oral health education to elementary school students through audiovisual media as a learning tool to enhance their knowledge and awareness regarding proper tooth-brushing techniques. The method used in this community service activity involved delivering dental and oral health education using audiovisual media along with demonstrations of correct tooth-brushing techniques. The results showed a significant increase in students’ knowledge, from 22% to 78.5%, after the implementation of audiovisual media and verbal explanation during demonstrations. Based on these findings, it is expected that delivering health education through audiovisual media can be an effective method for improving proper tooth-brushing behavior.
