Abstract

One of the most important assets in the discourse of sustainability is the younger generation. The younger generation is the next generation that will inherit values and interact with the ever-changing environment. Likewise, in terms of waste management, community involvement in waste management without the involvement of the younger generation makes us pessimistic about the sustainability of participatory waste management efforts. The purpose of the service is to provide socialization of waste management through a talk show for the younger generation of environmental lovers in the city of Bukittinggi. The socialization activity of effective and sustainable waste management was carried out for the younger generation totaling approximately 100 people. Furthermore, a talk show was conducted with the younger generation of environmental lovers. The results of the service found that the existence of waste in one city area is something that cannot be avoided. This is because economic activities in one city have directly generated waste in addition to other waste such as liquid waste and gas / particle waste. The conclusion of the service is that as long as a city grows and develops, the existence of waste will never disappear along with the development of the city.
