Mentoring of the True Urban Farming Group in Organic Vegetable Cultivation in RW 04 Bukik Apik Puhun Village Bukittinggi City

Today, pesticide residues in food and the environment are increasingly worrying. These residues are mainly found in vegetable plants such as chili, cabbage, tomatoes, Chinese cabbage, and others. One of the community's efforts to provide agricultural products, especially food ingredients, that are safe for the health of producers and consumers and do not damage the environment is through organic-based urban agriculture. Organic-based urban agriculture is a farming activity in an urban home environment that relies on the input and production facilities of natural materials (organic) without using synthetic chemicals, genetic engineering, or any external input that reduces land quality. One of the organic-based urban farming groups is the Sejati group, located in RW 4, Bukik Apik Puhun Village, Bukittinggi City. The Sejati urban farming group does not yet understand much about organic-based urban farming or vegetable cultivation. This community service aims to assist the Sejati group in carrying out organic-based urban farming. Some of the community service activities carried out are (1). Socialization or counseling aims to provide an understanding to members of the Sejati urban farming group about the dangers of pesticide residues to humans and the environment. (2) Organic-based urban farming training, namely providing knowledge to members of the Sejati Urban Farming Group about good organic vegetable cultivation. namely, Organic farming can be achieved in various ways, starting with the use of organic fertilizers that are easily found in the environment. The results of mentoring members of the Sejati Urban Farming Group are increasing the knowledge and skills of farmers about how an environmentally friendly organic-based urban farming system is also empowering the community's economy.
